We are recruiting a Digital Learning Specialist (Graduate) to join our Organisational Development team, which supports the capability, engagement and performance of everyone who works at Nexus.
 
In this role, you will take responsibility for our digital learning platform and our portfolio of digital learning resources. You will also contribute to a range of organisational development initiatives where digital learning can make a meaningful difference across Nexus.
 
This opportunity is well suited to someone who is enthusiastic about both the potential of digital technology and supporting personal and organisational development initiatives in Nexus. The successful candidate will be confident in using and managing digital tools and will bring strong communication and planning skills. We welcome applications from graduates of any discipline who are keen to develop their career in a digital learning role.
 
The role is based at The Learning Centre in South Shields and supports all our locations. It is a 24-month fixed term, full-time position reporting to the Organisational Development Manager. You will also benefit from a structured programme of personal development designed to support your growth in the role.
 
Typical Day
 
This isn’t your typical “upload a module and walk away” kind of role. You’ll be helping us build a modern, engaging, digital-first learning experience for colleagues across Nexus.
A typical day might include:
 

• Designing fresh, high quality- digital learning resources that genuinely help people learn
• Supporting the management and continuous improvement of our Learning Management System
• Turning real business needs into creative, accessible learning content
• Working with teams across Nexus to understand their development requirements
• Helping deliver, evaluate, and continuously improve learning programmes
• Getting hands-on with data, insights, and user feedback to make our content even better
• Staying ahead of emerging digital, social, and AI technologies that could transform our learning offer .

About You
 
You don’t need to arrive fully formed — this is a development role — but you do need to bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
 
We think you’ll thrive if you:
 

• Have a degree (2:1 or above) in any subject and solid Maths/English skills
• Have an interest in digital learning, corporate L&D, or organisational development
• Enjoy creating digital content and have strong ICT skills (especially MS365)
• Communicate clearly and confidently, both in writing and verbally
• Can manage your own workload, take initiative, and work well with others
• Are keen to grow your expertise in digital design, LMS management, and learning development
• Have some experience using or developing user-focused digital platforms (even university or voluntary experience counts!)
